Terms of service

These terms apply when you book any of our services or use our website. Please read them before booking. If anything is unclear, email hello@thewardrobeco.uk and we'll talk it through.

1. About us

The Wardrobe Co is run by Abbey (stylist) and Andrea (organiser). In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Abbey McCarron and Andrea Tod trading as The Wardrobe Co, 13 Ravensheugh Road, Musselburgh, EH21 7PX. "You" means the person booking our services.

2. Our services

  • The Wardrobe Edit: a full day in your home with both of us, combining a wardrobe edit, reorganisation and a personal styling session, followed by a digital lookbook. £1,000 for a standard wardrobe. Larger or more complex spaces are quoted individually.
  • Personal styling with Abbey: in-person styling from £750, virtual styling £250, and commercial and editorial styling on enquiry.
  • Home organising with Andrea: £60 per hour.
  • Resale: an optional service for pieces you decide to let go of (see section 9).

Prices are those shown on our website when you book. We'll always confirm your price in writing before you commit.

3. Consultations and quotes

Your first consultation is complimentary, at home or online, and comes with no obligation. We'll look at your space, talk through what you'd like to achieve and give you a quote. A booking is only confirmed once we've agreed the service, price and date in writing and received your deposit.

4. Booking and payment

  • For the Wardrobe Edit and in-person styling, a 50% deposit is required after your consultation to confirm your booking.
  • The balance is due within 7 days of your invoice, which we send after your service. It includes any storage products or clothing you've chosen to keep.
  • Home organising is charged at the hourly rate. We'll agree an estimate of the hours with you beforehand and invoice for the time actually spent.
  • Virtual styling is paid in full when you book.

5. Storage products and the curated rail

Your budget for storage products is discussed and agreed at your consultation. Andrea sources the products before your appointment, and only the items used are added to your invoice.

The curated rail Abbey brings is there for you to try. You're under no obligation to buy anything. Pieces you decide to keep are charged at the retail price and added to your invoice. We return anything you don't keep.

6. Your right to cancel

If you book with us at your home, by email or online, you have the legal right to cancel within 14 days of booking without giving a reason, and we'll refund your deposit in full.

If you ask us to carry out your service within those 14 days and then cancel, we may charge for any work already done, such as preparation, sourcing or time spent. Once the service has been fully carried out, the right to cancel ends.

To cancel, email hello@thewardrobeco.uk.

7. Rescheduling and later cancellations

  • You can move your appointment free of charge with at least 7 days' notice.
  • If you cancel with less than 7 days' notice, or cancel at any point once your 14-day cancellation period has ended, your 50% deposit is non-refundable, as it covers the time and preparation already committed.
  • If we ever have to reschedule, for example through illness, we'll offer you a new date as soon as possible, or a full refund of anything you've paid if you'd prefer.

8. On the day

Please make sure we have access to the spaces we're working on and that the work area is safe. Let us know in advance about pets, parking or anything else we should be aware of.

We take great care with your home and belongings. Every decision about what stays and what goes is yours, and nothing leaves your home without your agreement. Please keep money, jewellery and other valuables somewhere safe while we work.

9. Resale service

If you'd like us to sell pieces you've decided to let go of:

  • You confirm the items are yours to sell and, as far as you know, genuine.
  • We photograph, list, sell and post the items. There's no upload fee.
  • You receive 50% of the final sale price of anything sold.
  • We manage your items for four weeks from upload. Your share is paid within 14 days of that period ending, once all buyer payments have cleared.
  • Anything unsold is donated to charity, unless you ask us before the four weeks end to return it to you.
  • We'll price items fairly based on our experience, but we can't guarantee a sale or a price.

We take reasonable care of your items while they're with us.

10. Lookbooks and recommendations

Your lookbook and any styling guidance we create are for your personal use. Please don't copy or share them commercially.

Lookbooks may link to third-party retailers. Any purchase you make is between you and that retailer, on their terms.

11. Photos

We'll always ask before taking photos or videos of your wardrobe or space to plan the work and create your lookbook. We'll only share them publicly with your permission, and never with anything that identifies you or where you live. See our Privacy Policy for more.

12. Our responsibility to you

We carry out every service with reasonable care and skill. If we fail to, we're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that failure. We're not responsible for loss or damage that wasn't foreseeable, or for existing faults in furniture, fittings or items in your home.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything that can't be limited by law. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

13. Complaints

If you're not happy with any part of our service, please tell us at hello@thewardrobeco.uk. We'll listen and do our best to put it right as quickly as we can.

14. Using our website

The content and photographs on this website belong to The Wardrobe Co and may not be copied without our permission. We work to keep the information accurate and up to date, but prices and services may change. Links to other websites are provided for convenience, and we're not responsible for their content.

15. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force when you book will apply to your booking.

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
